Revealed: Sonam Kapoor’s special diet and workout for Cannes!

Sonam Kapoor is a complete trendsetter whether she walks down on red carpets here or outside the country. A regular at Cannes Film Festival, Sonam has been regularly attending the event since the past few years now, showing her style and fit body. If you have ever wondered the secret behind her toned midriff, we have decoded the answer for you.

Sonam’s personal trainer and celebrity nutritionist, Radhika Karle, who has been training the 32-year-old actress for a long time now revealed some details about what goes into her special ‘Cannes’ workout.

According to her, Sonam religiously alters her diet a month before the film festival begins to get in a desired shape and literally, brings out the best foot forward. Considering how important the international red carpet event is, special attention is paid to see that nothing goes wrong:

In an interview, the nutritionist said,

“Red carpet outings involve high slit gowns and backless outfits, so we keep the leg work though. There is as much emphasis on upper body workout because one needs to have a toned back to flaunt those dresses. I train with her and we workout on a combo trailer, which is a pilates machine and some traditional mat pilates routines in the mornings. Her evenings are dedicated to weight training and cardio. It involves interval training where she walks for a minute and then jogs. She picked up spinning when she was in Los Angeles recently and continues to do that as well.

She also spilled some of Sonam’s diet secrets, adding that Sonam loves gorging on homemade food and eats a special Keto chocolate!

“Sonam is back in India now and given that the weather is quite humid, she follows a light vegetarian diet which includes a lot of fluids like coconut water and a concoction of broken down protein which she drinks when she is working out. We don’t want to take any chances with her stomach as the red carpet will soon roll out. She also prefers to eat simple home-cooked food like roti, daal, sabzi.”

Radhika Karle also added that Sonam follows a very disciplined diet and does not ever go overboard when she has a cheat meal!

“The aim of the game is to let loose the reigns for maybe one meal and then get back on track. Her cheat meals way back in the day used to be things like French fries but she’s moved away from that now and a cheat meal for Sonam now would be something like Keto coffee or chocolate – so maybe a Keto Mocha Coffee which I really don’t want her to be having.”
